What is Trelegy Ellipta and what does it treat?

Trelegy Ellipta is a medication used to improve breathing in patients with COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease), which also encompasses bronchitis and emphysema. Trelegy Ellipta can also control symptoms of asthma to prevent symptoms of wheezing. This inhalation powder contains fluticasone, umeclidinium, and vilanterol. The combination of these substances helps to prevent bronchial inflammation and relax the muscles to improve breathing. Trelegy Ellipta is not an emergency inhaler and cannot treat an asthma attack.

It is essential to use Trelegy Ellipta as directed by your doctor. Follow all instructions and medication guides included with Trelegy Ellipta.

  • Open the cover of the inhaler until you hear a click, signifying that the inhaler is ready to use
  • Breathe out fully
  • Put the mouthpiece between your lips and take a long breath in through your mouth (do not breathe in through your nose)
  • Remove the inhaler from your mouth and hold your breath for three to four seconds
  • Breathe out slowly
  • Close the inhaler and store in a safe place
  • Rinse your mouth with water and do not swallow the water
